Assembly Tips: 1. Read our assembly instructions for your specific model. You'll find useful techniques that will make your model easier to assemble and will result in a better looking model. 2. Photocopy the card before doing anything. This will help you identify pieces once they are cut. If you don't have a photocopier, number the backside of each piece as you cut them out. 3. Before cutting out the pieces, score all dotted lines using a scissor blade, the back of an x-acto knife, or a pen knife. A gentle but firm hand is all that's needed- the object is not to cut through the paper! Try to score all the dotted lines before cutting- it's easier to score before the parts are cut. 4. After scoring, cut along the solid lines using a sharp pair of scissors. Fine cuts and blind cuts may require an x-acto knife or a pen knife. Always use care when using sharp objects! 5. Beginners and youngsters should use a glue that will set fairly quickly, but not so quickly that you have to rush. Monkey Design recommends UHU glue, though that may be difficult to get. Dupo glue works well, as does nearly any craft glue. Spreading the glue with a toothpick or a small paint brush prevents over-application. 6. If you are older and more experienced consider using super glue. I prefer Loctite Easy-Squeeze Super Glue Gel. You only need a small dot the size of a pin head to get a good bond and it doesn't dry too quickly. You need to be careful, however, not to get any on your hands or the outer surfaces of the model.
